The Captain's Log: Thursday, November 20, 2008

Today, we did opening #28. Then we did our puzzle notes activity, finished the cell notes from the Power Point and worked on the vocabulary log.

Homework: Vocabulary log and finish your puzzle notes.

* Question of the week: The first person to give me the correct answer on a sheet of paper at the beginning of each class period tomorrow will when a prize from the treasure chest.

The question is what are the 3 study guides that you have to study for the test and when is the test?

Today, we did opening #27. Then they worked on their vocabulary log.

Homework: Vocabulary log due by the beginning of class on Friday. The Cells Test is on Friday, December 5th. You already have a study guide, which is the Power Point notes handout that we filled out during class. The vocabulary log will also be a study guide.

The Captain's Log: Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Today, we did opening #26. Then we took notes from a Power Point on the cell. We also talked about the cell jigsaw assignment and progress reports.

Homework: All progress reports need to be signed and you need to do the research on your organelle that you were assigned. Find out the function or job of this organelle and how it relates to the other organelles on your organizer. Remember to write the information on the puzzle piece with the name of your cell part. Do not write on any other puzzle pieces. Your next test which is on the cell is December 5, so start studying the notes you took today. Also, since I will be at an inservice tomorrow, remember that you are competing for that pizza party and sub points count.

Today, we did opening # 21. Then we worked on our Microstation Activities. All egg projects have been completed and turned in for a grade.

Reminder: If your performance arts permission slip is not turned in to your homeroom teacher you will not be able to attend the performance on Friday.

The Captain's Log: Monday, November 10, 2008

Today, we did opening #20. Then we completed our egg cell project sheets and turned them into the box. Then we started our Microscope stations. There are eight stations ranging from learning to look into a microscope to making slides, identification games to vocabulary games, R.A.F.T. activities to cell writing activities, and even some computer activities. All of the activities are either microscope or cell related.

Homework: None

Today, we did opening #19. Then we finished our egg cell projects and all the lab reports are due by Monday at the end of class. We also took the microscope quiz today.
