Today, we did opening #10. Then we turned in syllabus signatures and worked on finishing our research for the biome project.
Homework: We start the visuals for our project on Tuesday so make sure all supplies are here. Syllabus signatures and our research is are also due by Tuesday.
Today, we did opening #9. Then we turned in the syllabus signatures and worked on our Biome project research. I also gave out the online book information.
The website to pull up the book is http://my.hrw.com . Each student has a user name and password.
Homework: Bring the biome project supplies and the syllabus signature.
Today, we did opening #8. Then we worked on research for our Biome. Everyone should have a good idea of what they need to bring for the project and should start bringing in supplies. All supplies are due by Tuesday, September 2.
Homework: Bring in your Biome project supplies. Don't Forget to have your parents look at the syllabus on yesterday's blog and send a note saying they saw it.
Today, we did opening # 7. Then each group was given a type of biome project to create. All work will be done in class so they will need to have their supplies in class by Tuesday, September 2. The rest of this week they will research their biome using the following guiding questions.

Today, we did opening #6. All of our openings this week will be about the essential 55 classroom rules. Then we finished our bean lab and I gave every group their biome for the project and some classes began research.
Homework: None
Today, we did opening # 4. Then we had the vocabulary quiz retake and turned in our foldable activity. We also explored the trail to find the 5 levels of environmental organization. We were able to draw and locate 4 of them.
Homework: Two column notes on pages 480-483. Research whether there are any places on the earth's surface that do not have life.
Today, we did opening #3. Then we took the vocabulary quiz and we finished our foldable activity.
Homework: Finish the foldable for homework. (not block 6)
Today, we did opening #2. Then we finished our vocabulary teaching activity and made a foldable organizer on the 5 levels of environmental organization page 481.
Homework: Vocabulary Quiz tomorrow
Today, we did our first opening in the composition notebook that stays in class. Then we went over classroom rules, the behavior card, and the behavior expectations for my class. Then each ship crew taught the class a new one of our eight vocabulary words. The eight words are habitat, community, population, species, environment, ecosystem, abiotic, and biotic. We will finish this activity tomorrow.
Homework: Please define and study these words for the vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
